Student housing near CTU (ČVUT) Dejvice: a private studio and a predictable commute
Rezidence Kandertova offers student housing for ČVUT, but not in Dejvice: it is in Prague 8 – Libeň, about 35–45 minutes door to door from the Dejvice campus by tram and bus, with the fastest connection to FEL on Technická 2 taking about 32 minutes. In return you get a brand-new studio with your own kitchenette, bathroom, desk and fibre internet up to 2 Gb/s, from €570 per person a month with all bills included.
The commute to Dejvice, step by step
Let us be straight with you: the ČVUT campus is on the other side of the Vltava, so you will commute. The good news is that the trip is predictable. From the house it is a five-minute walk to the U Kříže tram stop, where trams 3 and 24 together left roughly every four minutes in the morning timetable we checked.
- Tram 3 or 24 from U Kříže two stops to Okrouhlická
- Bus 145 from Okrouhlická to Dejvická – about 18 minutes
- A 3–9 minute walk to your faculty building, depending on which one
- Alternative: tram to Invalidovna, metro B to Můstek, metro A to Dejvická
- By bike: roughly 30–35 minutes
Why ČVUT students value a private desk and 2 Gb/s fibre
Engineering and computer science mean projects, simulations and code. Every studio has fibre internet up to 2 Gb/s included in the rent – handy for large downloads and datasets, remote access to faculty software over VPN and video calls with your project team. Each resident has their own desk and chair, so a late-night coding session does not take over anyone's kitchen table.
Insulating triple glazing (39 dB) keeps outside noise down, and external aluminium blinds help when you need to sleep in after a deadline. A shared workspace in the house is in preparation.

Student housing near CTU Dejvice, or a studio in Libeň?
Dejvice is the obvious address for ČVUT, but Libeň has its own advantages. The house is right next to Pod Korábem park, the Vltava embankment is seven minutes on foot and Karlín, with its cafés and restaurants, is about 13–16 minutes by tram. The building was completely reconstructed in 2022–2026, so you are the first person to live in your studio.
Other ČVUT faculties and VŠCHT
Not all ČVUT teaching takes place in Dejvice. If your lectures are at Charles Square, trams 3 and 24 run there directly – about 25–30 minutes door to door; see our ČVUT Karlovo náměstí page. Students of the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences on Břehová and the Faculty of Transportation Sciences on Konviktská have their own page too. And if you study at UCT Prague (VŠCHT) on Technická 5, your route is the same as to the Dejvice campus.
