Getting to Technická 5 for an early lab slot
When your lab starts early, a reliable commute matters more than a short one. From the house you walk five minutes to U Kříže and take tram 3 or 24 two stops to Okrouhlická, then bus 145 to Dejvická and walk about 6–7 minutes to Technická 5. The alternative is tram to Invalidovna, metro B to Můstek and metro A to Dejvická.
Door to door this takes about 35–45 minutes on a weekday, not counting the wait for the first tram – in the morning timetable we checked, trams 3 and 24 together left U Kříže roughly every four minutes. For an 8 o'clock lab, plan on the upper end of the range and check the PID planner, as timetables change.
Your own kitchenette after a long day in the lab
After hours in a lab coat, the last thing you want is a queue for a shared stove. Every studio has a fitted kitchen with a hob, fridge, sink and extractor hood, so you can cook when you get home – or batch-cook on Sunday for a week of long lab days. In a twin studio you share it with one flatmate, not with a whole floor.

Own bathroom and laundry in the house
Each studio has its own bathroom with a rain shower, so there is no waiting in the evening. The house has a laundry room with washers and dryers, which makes it easy to keep up with laundry on your own rhythm, plus a storage room with private lockable boxes for suitcases and things you do not need every day.
Water in the whole building passes through a central softening filter, so you get less limescale on taps, the shower glass and your kettle.

Same campus area as ČVUT Dejvice
UCT shares its Dejvice campus area with ČVUT, so the route is the same as for the Faculty of Civil Engineering, FIT, FEL and Mechanical Engineering. If you know ČVUT students who are looking too, a twin studio for two – €570 per person – is the most affordable option in the house. For more space to yourself, a single studio is €980 a month.

Frequently asked questions
Can I move in mid-semester?
Yes. Contracts start on the 1st or 15th of a month and run for at least six months. If you start on the 15th, you pay rent only until the end of that month. Move-in is tentatively from 1 December 2026.
What furniture is in the studio?
A bed with mattress, a desk and a chair for each resident, built-in wardrobes, a fitted kitchen with appliances and a bathroom.
What do I need to bring?
Just your bedding and personal things – the studio is furnished and the kitchen is fitted with a hob, fridge and sink.
How quickly do I get the visa letter?
Within 5 working days of signing the lease, free of charge, in Czech and English.
