Student housing in Prague for your son or daughter – what parents should know
If you are looking for student housing in Prague for your son or daughter, Rezidence Kandertova in Prague 8 – Libeň offers brand-new furnished studios, each with a private kitchenette and bathroom, for your child alone or shared with one friend. You pay one fixed monthly sum in euro – from €570 per person, all bills included – plus a €1,000 deposit refunded within 30 days after moving out.
What you are paying for
The rent is one fixed monthly amount that already covers water, heating, electricity, waste and fibre internet up to 2 Gb/s – no year-end settlement and no admin, service or commission fees on top. Prices are set in euro; koruna amounts are indicative.
The deposit is €1,000 per studio, for a twin place and a whole studio alike. €200 of it is paid as the reservation after signing a short reservation agreement, the remaining €800 when the lease is signed, by 15 November 2026 (for later bookings, within 7 days of receiving the lease); the first month's rent follows 14 days before move-in. We refund it within 30 days after your child moves out.

The building: new student housing in Prague, your child the first resident
Between 2022 and 2026 the house was completely reconstructed: new wiring and plumbing, bathrooms and kitchens, windows, floors and doors, a new gas boiler room and a new KONE lift to every floor. Nobody has lived in the studio before your child, and the triple-glazed windows have security locking points as standard.
There is a laundry room with washers and dryers and a storage room with private lockable boxes. We describe only what is actually built – for questions about building access or anything not listed here, ask us directly.

Own kitchen, own bathroom – and a flatmate your child meets first
Every studio has its own fitted kitchen with hob and fridge and its own tiled bathroom with shower – no shared bathroom down the corridor. It comes furnished with a bed and mattress, a desk and chair for each resident and built-in wardrobes; your child only needs to pack bedding and personal things.
In a twin studio two people share the room. Your child can book it with a friend from school, or we match them with another resident – same gender by default, similar age and where possible a similar programme – and they meet before signing. A single studio offers full privacy.
What happens to your money if plans change
Students often book before admission is certain – so please read this first. The cancellation terms are part of the agreements signed online; the main points:
- Visa or university admission refused: no refund – the €200 reservation is kept
- Visa delayed: the start date can be moved once for free, by up to 2 months
- Accommodation cannot be provided because the occupancy permit has not been issued: 100 % refund of the €200 reservation and everything paid – the only refund case
- Lease not signed by the deadline, withdrawal or cancellation before move-in for any other reason: the €200 reservation is kept
- No rent is charged before the exact opening date is confirmed in writing
Visiting your child in Prague
Arriving by train or coach, you reach the house from the main station or Florenc bus station in about 20 minutes, mostly by tram 3 or 24 to U Kříže, five minutes from the door. From the airport, allow about an hour with two or three changes.
Pod Korábem park is right next to the house, and a walk through it brings you to the Vltava embankment in about seven minutes.

Frequently asked questions
Can I, as a parent, sign the contract or pay the rent?
Ask us before booking and we will explain how it works in your case. Rent is due on the 1st of each month by bank transfer with the contract's variable symbol.
What happens if my child drops out or wants to leave early?
Before move-in the cancellation terms apply: the €200 reservation is kept – this also applies if admission is refused. Contracts run for at least six months; about ending a contract early after move-in, ask us before signing – the contract you sign online is binding.
