Student housing for ČZU students who would rather live in the city

The Czech University of Life Sciences campus is on Kamýcká in Suchdol, at the north-western edge of Prague; from Rezidence Kandertova in Prague 8 – Libeň the trip takes about 40–50 minutes by tram and two buses. That is a real commute, so this is student housing for ČZU students who want the river, Karlín and city evenings close by – in a brand-new studio from €570 a month, all bills included.

The commute to Kamýcká, stated plainly

Walk five minutes to U Kříže, ride tram 3 or 24 two stops to Okrouhlická, take bus 145 to Dejvická and change to bus 107 to Zemědělská univerzita. The ride from stop to stop is about 38–40 minutes in the PID journey planner; with the short walks it comes to about 40–50 minutes. That is two changes, every day you go to campus.

Cycling means a climb up to Suchdol. We estimate about 35–45 minutes, but that is a rough figure, not a timed ride.

Student housing for ČZU students: who it suits

If your timetable keeps you on campus every day from early morning, and labs or field practicals run into the evening, living close to Suchdol will save you time. Kandertova is for the other kind of ČZU student: the campus for lectures, the city for everything else.

From the house you walk through Pod Korábem park to the Vltava embankment in seven minutes, and Karlín's cafés, restaurants and riverside are about 15 minutes away. Decide by counting how many days a week you will really spend in Suchdol – and whether you can group your classes into fewer of them.

Kobylisy station on metro line C is about 13 minutes by bike or 14 minutes by public transport. Nádraží Holešovice is about 19–22 minutes (tram 3 to Bulovka and bus 201, or tram to Kobylisy and two stops on metro C), and Výstaviště about 23–26 minutes. Metro B at Palmovka is about 11 minutes by tram.

Prices and what is included

A place in a twin studio costs €570 (13 900 Kč) a month in Type 01 or €670 (16 400 Kč) in the larger Type 02; a whole studio for yourself is €980 (23 900 Kč) or €1,090 (26 600 Kč). Water, heating, electricity, waste and fibre internet up to 2 Gb/s are included, with no year-end settlement and no admin, service or commission fees.

Every studio has its own kitchenette with hob and fridge and its own bathroom, so a late return from campus does not mean queueing for a shared kitchen. The house has a laundry room with washers and dryers and a storage room with private lockable boxes.

ČZU international students: visa letter and your reservation

Coming to ČZU from abroad? You can book online without a viewing. Once you have signed the lease – after the €200 reservation, the first part of the €1,000 deposit – we issue a free confirmation of accommodation in English and Czech within 5 working days, and at handover we register you with the foreign police. Our team speaks English.

Please note that a refused visa or university admission is not a reason for a refund – the €200 reservation is kept; the only full refund is if we cannot provide the accommodation because the occupancy permit has not been issued. If the visa is delayed, you can move your start date once, free of charge, by up to 2 months.
