Student housing near the Charles University Faculty of Science on Albertov does not have to mean a shared flat: Rezidence Kandertova offers brand-new studios next to a park in Prague 8, and tram 24 runs from U Kříže to Albertov with no change, about 38–40 minutes door to door. Getting to Albertov: one tram, no change
Albertov is not around the corner from Libeň, and we won't pretend it is. What makes the trip easy is that it needs no change: five minutes on foot to U Kříže, tram 24 straight to Albertov (about 27 minutes on board) and about six minutes' walk to the faculty – about 38–40 minutes door to door on a normal weekday. Alternatively, take tram 3 to Karlovo náměstí and change to another tram.
A direct ride is usable time – enough to revise species names before an identification test or finish a paper for a seminar. Cycling is estimated at about 30–35 minutes. Timetables change, so treat all times as approximate.
Green living for science students
If you spend your days in a lab or over maps, it helps to have greenery at the door. Kandertova stands 50 metres from Pod Korábem park. Through the park you reach the Vltava embankment in about seven minutes, and Thomayerovy sady, another Libeň park, is about 13 minutes away.
Inside, insulating triple glazing with 39 dB sound insulation keeps the studio quiet, and external aluminium blinds keep summer heat outside – useful in the June exam period.

A studio set up for lab reports and field-trip gear
Field courses come with equipment: boots, rucksacks, waterproofs, sometimes a tent or a sampling kit. In a 20 m² studio that soon fills the room, so the house has a storage room with private lockable boxes for things you don't need every day, alongside floor-to-ceiling built-in wardrobes in every studio. Your desk stays a desk.
Every resident has their own desk and chair, fibre internet up to 2 Gb/s handles large datasets and GIS layers, and with your own kitchenette and bathroom there is no shared corridor between you and a quiet evening of writing. The laundry room with washers and dryers is in the house.

Neighbours on Albertov: ČVUT Transportation Sciences and the 1st Faculty of Medicine
The Faculty of Transportation Sciences of ČVUT has a building at Horská 3, a short walk from Albertov: tram 24 from U Kříže to Albertov and about four minutes on foot, roughly 36–38 minutes in total. Share a twin studio with a friend from there and you take the same tram in the morning.

Frequently asked questions
Where can I store bulky gear?
In the storage room of the house, which has private lockable boxes for suitcases, skis and field equipment. Bringing something very large? Ask us about the box size first.
Is there bike parking?
Secure parking for bikes and scooters is in preparation, together with the other outdoor facilities, so ask us for the current status before you bring a bike. Cycling to Albertov takes an estimated 30–35 minutes.
How long is the contract?
From 6 months, and it can be extended. In the application you choose 6–12 months and a start on the 1st or 15th. No short-term stays.
Will it be quiet enough to study?
You have the studio to yourself or share it with one flatmate, behind acoustic triple glazing. A shared workspace is in preparation; your own desk is there from day one.
