Student housing near MFF UK Karlín: Matfyz is your neighbour
From Rezidence Kandertova in Prague 8 – Libeň you reach the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Sokolovská 83 in about 15–17 minutes door to door: tram 3 or 24 from U Kříže runs direct to Křižíkova in 8 minutes, then it is a 2-minute walk. Every studio has fibre internet up to 2 Gb/s and a desk for each resident, from €570 per person a month with all bills included.
Student housing near MFF UK Karlín: three ways to Sokolovská 83
Tram: walk five minutes to U Kříže, take tram 3 or 24 to Křižíkova (8 minutes, no change) and walk two minutes – about 15–17 minutes in total. In the morning timetable the two lines together left U Kříže roughly every 4 minutes, so missing one is not a crisis.
Bike: roughly 12–15 minutes to the faculty, an estimate rather than a timed route; secure parking for bikes and scooters is listed among the outdoor facilities in preparation. Walk: head down through Pod Korábem park to the Vltava and along to Maniny – about 22 minutes – and continue into Karlín. It is the slow option, but a good one for clearing your head after an exam.
Fibre and a desk for problem sets
Problem sets, programming assignments and competitive coding sessions do not stop at 10 pm. Every studio has fibre internet up to 2 Gb/s, included in the rent, plus a desk and chair for each resident – enough for a laptop, an external monitor and a stack of lecture notes. Triple glazing with 39 dB sound insulation keeps the street outside, and external aluminium blinds shade the room when you need to sleep in after a late night. A shared workspace is in preparation in the house.

Twin with a fellow matfyzák, or single
A Type 01 studio has 20 m²: hall, private bathroom and a 12.8 m² living room with kitchenette. Alone you pay €980 a month; as a twin you pay €570 each, which saves each of you €410 a month. Bring a classmate from your programme, or ask us to match you – same gender by default, similar age and where possible a similar field. Water, heating, electricity, waste and internet are included, with no year-end settlement.
Karlín life, 15 minutes away
Living in Libeň puts Karlín within easy reach for more than lectures: cafés, restaurants, offices and the riverside are about 15 minutes away. Florenc, with metro and the main bus station, is on the same tram line. Back home, Pod Korábem park is two minutes from the door and the Koráb sports centre about eight.
Between Karlín and Troja
Depending on your programme, you may be taught both in Karlín and at the Troja campus at V Holešovičkách. From Kandertova, Troja is about 20–25 minutes by tram 3 or 24 one or two stops and bus 201 or 145 to Kuchyňka, followed by about 6 minutes uphill on foot. Is the PlayStation area open?
Not yet – the PlayStation area, lounge, workspace and yoga studio (20 m² each) are in preparation for the house opening.
When do I upload proof of study?
14 days before move-in you upload proof of study or work, together with your liability insurance. The application itself is free; you only need your passport or ID number and a photo of it.
Is the internet good enough for large downloads and gaming?
Every studio has fibre internet up to 2 Gb/s, included in the price, for lectures, streaming and gaming.
