Rezidence Kandertova in Prague 8 – Libeň offers student housing near the Charles University Faculty of Social Sciences (FSV), with brand-new studios from €570 per person a month, all bills included. It has an easy line to both FSV sites: Opletalova in the centre is about 25–30 minutes away and the Jinonice campus in Prague 5 about 40–45 minutes on metro B.
Student housing near the Faculty of Social Sciences: two buildings, two commutes
Depending on your institute and year, your timetable may take you to Opletalova, to Jinonice or to both in one week – so check both trips.
Opletalova: five minutes on foot to U Kříže, tram 3 or 24 to Florenc, metro C to Hlavní nádraží or Muzeum and about four minutes' walk – about 25–30 minutes door to door. Jinonice: tram from U Kříže to Invalidovna or Palmovka, then metro B straight to Jinonice and about seven minutes on foot – about 40–45 minutes. By bike, Opletalova is an estimated 20–25 minutes; Jinonice is not practical by bike.
Planning your week around metro line B
The key is line B. Trams 3 and 24 from U Kříže, five minutes from the house, reach Palmovka in about four minutes, and from there line B runs straight across the city to Jinonice. On Jinonice days you are on the metro shortly after leaving home.
On Opletalova days the same trams head into the centre: Florenc for metro C, or straight on to Wenceslas Square, about 23–24 minutes door to door. If you can choose seminar groups, the shorter central trip is the better fit for early starts.

International FSV master's and exchange students

The team speaks English, you book online without a viewing, and once you have signed the lease, we issue a free confirmation of accommodation for your visa in Czech and English within 5 working days. At handover we register you with the foreign police – nothing for you to arrange.
Please note that a refused visa or admission is not a reason for a refund – the €200 reservation is kept. If your visa is delayed, you can move your start once, free of charge, by up to two months. Summer-semester arrivals will find timing details on a separate page.
A studio that doubles as a newsroom
Journalism students record interviews, edit video and file stories on deadline; IR and political science students sit in online conferences and group calls. Every studio has fibre internet up to 2 Gb/s, included in the price, and every resident has their own desk and chair. Triple glazing with 39 dB sound insulation helps keep street noise down when you record.
With your own kitchenette and bathroom, late evenings at the screen are your call. A shared workspace and lounge are in preparation.
Budget: twin or single?
A place in a twin Type 01 studio costs €570 a month; the whole studio for yourself costs €980. Over a 6-month contract that is €3,420 against €5,880 – a difference of €2,460 in one semester.
Both include all bills and the same furniture: bed with mattress, desk and chair for each resident, built-in wardrobes, a fitted kitchen and your own bathroom. The larger Type 02 studios (27.5 m²) cost €670 per person as a twin or €1,090 as a single. The deposit is €1,000, the same for a twin place and a single studio.

Can I start on 15 February?
Yes. Contracts start on the 1st or the 15th of a month and run for at least 6 months, so a 15 February start works for the summer semester. Your first rent then covers only the rest of February.
What is furnished?
Bed with mattress, desk and chair for each resident, built-in wardrobes, a fitted kitchen with hob, fridge, sink and extractor hood, and a private bathroom. Bring bedding and personal things.
