The tram–metro combo, step by step
Walk five minutes to the U Kříže tram stop, ride tram 3 or 24 for four minutes to Palmovka and change to metro line B. Door to door to the station that is about 9–11 minutes. In the morning timetable trams 3 and 24 together left U Kříže roughly every four minutes, so the wait is usually short.
On a dry day the bike is even quicker – about 5 minutes for the 1.2 km. Walking takes about 19 minutes, a good option when you want some fresh air after lectures.

From Palmovka, line B runs into the centre and on to the south-west of the city. Some trips from Kandertova, door to door according to the PID journey planner:

Palmovka for shopping and errands
Palmovka is not just a station – it is also where you go for everyday shopping, four minutes by tram from U Kříže or five by bike. Combine the weekly shop with the ride home and cook what you bought straight away: every studio has a fitted kitchenette with hob, fridge, sink and extractor hood.
Alternatives: train, direct trams and metro C
You are not tied to one station. For the city centre and Karlovo náměstí, the direct trams 3 and 24 from U Kříže take about the same time door to door as the tram–metro combination, so you can pick whichever suits you. The Praha-Libeň U Kříže train stop is three minutes from the house, and Kobylisy on metro line C is about 14 minutes by public transport or 13 by bike – useful when your destination is on line C. Florenc bus station is about 18–20 minutes by direct tram.
