Two friends can share the cost of student housing near Anglo-American University at Rezidence Kandertova: the house in Prague 8 – Libeň is about 36–39 minutes by public transport from AAU on Letenská, via metro B and A to Malostranská. One brand-new twin studio costs €570 per person a month with all bills included – a practical alternative to renting in the historic centre.
Getting to Letenská
Take tram 3 or 24 from U Kříže to Invalidovna, metro B to Můstek and metro A to Malostranská, then walk about five to seven minutes to Letenská. Door to door, the PID journey planner gives about 36–39 minutes. The alternative is tram 3 or 24 to Masarykovo nádraží and another tram to Malostranské náměstí. By bike, reckon on roughly 25–30 minutes – our estimate.
The honest economics of Malá Strana
Living a few streets from your lectures under Prague Castle is a lovely idea, and for some students it works. Flats in the historic centre, though, are usually in older buildings, their rents tend to reflect the address, and utilities are typically billed on top and settled later.
At Kandertova the trade-off is a commute of about 36–39 minutes. In return you get a brand-new studio after the 2022–2026 reconstruction, one fixed monthly price and no year-end settlement. Whether that is the better deal depends on how much the address matters to you – but you will know your costs to the euro.

Student housing near Anglo-American University for two friends
If you are moving to Prague with a friend, a twin studio is the simplest set-up: one 20 m² studio with two beds with mattresses, two desks and two chairs, its own kitchenette and bathroom – at €570 per person, so €1,140 a month for the studio between you. In the larger Type 02 (27.5 m²) it is €670 each.
Tell us in the application that you are booking together and we keep you together. Each of you pays the €1,000 deposit for your own place, €200 of it as the reservation. Twin studios are currently offered on the 2nd floor.
English-speaking team, bilingual paperwork
Everything runs online and in English: apply in about 3 minutes (with your passport or ID number and a photo of it), sign a short reservation agreement and pay the €200 reservation within 5 days; within 1 working day of payment we reserve a specific studio and you sign the lease with a code from your e-mail. If you need a visa, we issue a free confirmation of accommodation in English and Czech within 5 working days of signing the lease. Please note that a refused visa or admission is not a reason for a refund – the €200 reservation is kept. At handover we register you with the foreign police.
Weekends in the centre
Old Town Square is about 32–35 minutes away – tram to Bílá labuť and bus 207 to Staroměstská, or metro B and A via Můstek – and Wenceslas Square about 23–24 minutes by direct tram. Closer to home, Karlín's cafés and riverside are about 15 minutes away, and Pod Korábem park starts 50 metres from the door.

Frequently asked questions
Can my friend and I book together?
Yes. Apply for a twin studio and mention your friend; we reserve one studio for both of you, and each of you pays €570 a month in Type 01.
I am coming alone – who will I share with?
Ask us to match you with another resident: same gender by default, similar age and, where possible, a similar programme. You meet before you sign.
Is the deposit per person or per studio?
It is €1,000 for every place – each person in a twin studio pays €1,000, the same as for a single studio. It is refunded within 30 days after you move out.
When can we move in?
Move-in is tentatively planned from 1 December 2026. We confirm the exact date in writing after the occupancy permit, and no rent is charged before that.
